Dessert Adult Style

Well, it’s Friday.  The weekend mentality has kicked in.

When I was a kid, I was always wishing I was a grown up. I’d play “office” or I’d make-believe I was a mommy. When I was in middle school, I wanted to be older so I could drive. Once I could drive, I wanted to get into 18 & over clubs. Once I was 18, I wanted to be 21.

Then, something funny happened. After 21, I started wishing I was a kid again. This has been the case since. Apparently, I’m not alone on this one.

Lately there has been a ton of dessert “innovations” popping up in the adult beverage circle. All of the new flavors of adult drinks are the favorites from when we were kids.

A few I haven’t tried yet…

Bubble gum flavored vodka

Adult chocolate milk!

A few I have tried…..

Whipped cream vodka has gotten some bad reviews from certain vodka connoisseurs but whipped cream vodka sodas are my new fav hands down.

Speaking of whipped cream and vodka…

These are the new vodka infused whipped creams. They serve them on spoons in bars. On our Valentine’s Day date this past Saturday, we ordered a vanilla cupcake that was frosted with vanilla vodka infused whipped cream. My husband didn’t really like it, but I thought it was just dandy 😛

Three olives has put out an entire flavored line that they call the candy collection.

The root beer flavored vodka had turned into an epidemic of spiked root beer floats

Even iced tea got a makeover!  Firefly put out the Summer 2009 drink…

I still love soaked gummy bears & fruit.

And my newest  favorite…..

PUDDING SHOTS!!!!

Jell-o shots are soooo 2002 😉

Stay tuned for a pudding shot recipe/taste test post  😉 ….

  1. Diet Root Beer + Vanilla Vodka = amazing! Same goes for Firefly mixed with low calorie lemonade, it’s like a tipsy Arnold Palmer! I think it’s mostly because all the CEO’s of these companies and creative teams are our age and we all want to be the kids we once were, the ones I think the years before us were never able to be in the corp world!

This is a great post, makes me want to get geared up for summer and tasty chilled cocktails! Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka plus Godiva chocolate liqueur in a shaker with ice. I am venturing out here since I am almost 100 wine drinker….The gal who does my facials wanted me to taste the whipped cream vodka and I took a shot..

  4. I really want to get drunk right now! Thanks for the recommendations 🙂

  5. I’m not sure why folks think that growing up means giving up the fun and enjoyable things in life. I will be ninety with gummy bears, I may have to blend them, but they will be there. OK, yuck, I just thought of blended gummy bears.

  6. I had the whipped vodka for NYE with orange soda and it was great! The whipped cream sounds good though. I love mixing raspberry and other flavored ones with sprite zero.

  7. Girl, I’ve got to have your pudding shot recipe!
I went to a party a few months ago and they served JUICYFRUIT shots that were made with bubblegum vodka.

  8. Bubble gum vodka sounds like the bomb.com.

Oh I cannot wait for that one.

  9. OOh yum! This post reminds me of Chocovine (chocolate, red wine? YUMYUMYUM!). I think I will have to get a bottle this weekend!

  10. MMMM! I want to try pudding shots AND alcohol infused whip cream. That’s just plain awesome. Especially for a night at home with the hubby =) Thanks!!

Let's talk it out
